Augsburg supports professor Wanyama

Ryan Moore, Editor-in-Chief

Just before spring break, news broke that Professor Mzenga Wanyama, tenured
member of the English department, was being asked to attend a meeting with ICE on very short notice. Wanyama has been required to regularly meet at ICE headquarters, but this request was out of the ordinary schedule and included language about discussing “plans for deportation.”
Many Augsburg community members arrived at ICE headquarters on the morning of March 9 to support the professor and stand against ICE. Support has since continued for Wanyama with Professor CombellickBidney and Professor Cowgill at the forefront.
