Excitement for Slime Rancher Sequel
Percy Bartelt, Staff Writer
Just when you think adorable balls of slime couldn’t get any cuter than they were in 2016 with the first “Slime Rancher,” Monomi Park, an American indie studio, releases a sequel with even more slime and even more fun in “Slime Rancher 2!”
As of Sept. 22, Monomi Park released a sequel to the multiple award-winning “Slimer Rancher,” after it was nominated for a BAFTA Best Game of the Year, and won the Golden Joystick Award, as well as Xbox’s Game of the Year and Best Debut Indie Game.
It’s clear to see why this game was green-lighted for a sequel! In the first game, you got to explore a unique and beautiful terrain while interacting with the one-of-a-kind wildlife, which were just cute balls of slime that vaguely resemble animals, but what’s not to love? The overall graphics of the first game were simple, cutesy and amazing for a game in 2016, but when the trailer Monomi Park released for “Slime Rancher 2,” audiences were blown away with the upgrade, along with the intrinsic detailing and new terrains the sequel had to offer!
Already this game has a 10/10 on Steam and a 98% on Google Reviews, so there’s no doubt you’re going to enjoy it too! Something to note about “Slime Rancher 2” is that Monomi Park is still technically updating the game’s ending since it has only been released in early access, but developers are working as quickly as they can for a full release. Fans are eager to see what conclusion the developers decide on.
In “Slime Rancher 2,” you are reacquainted with the main character from the first game: Beatrix LeBeau, an ambitious young rancher who left earth in hopes for a new life on this new land. However, instead of roaming on the Far, Far Range from the first game, you get to explore a new land called Rainbow Island! There are ancient technologies to discover on this island, as well as a slew of new and peculiar slimes to meet.
On Sept. 28, Monomi Park tweeted their gratitude for fans’ unwavering support of the newest installment of Slime Rancher. “The Early Access launch of Slime Rancher 2 has exceeded our expectations in every way imaginable. We’d like to take a moment to thank you all for supporting us now and in the incredible journey ahead.” It’s nice to see the development team appreciates their fans as much as the fans appreciate their hard work!
Though I have never played either the first one or the second, I have always enjoyed watching people play it online! It is perfect if you’re just looking to binge watch, or play, with its chill environment and very little to stress about considering all the beings there are slime creatures that are so smiley and squishy. There’s loads to explore and discover along the way, perfect for a relaxing time at home just chilling with some gooey friends.
You can purchase “Slime Rancher 2” in early access on Steam for thirty dollars. The game will continuously update as the developers pursue their end goal (that hopefully includes multiplayer please and thank you).
