My name’s Percy Bartelt and I’m a senior this semester! After four years I’ve finally been able to take a painting class here on campus! I’ve been painting ever since I was in high school, but this class really helped me to hone my skills with this relaxing artistic method. I started with acrylic painting, and I heavily preferred it over oil paint or watercolor, but after experimenting with watercolor more, my appreciation has only grown for it. This also led me into working with gouache paint, which is like a mixture of acrylic and watercolor, and honestly I think I prefer gouache now! With this painting class, I’ve explored many different methods, techniques and mediums all of which have helped me grow my love for this artform.
