The Augsburg University Track and Field team continued its 2018 campaign with their second meet at the University of Wisconsin-Stout to compete at the Warren Bowlus Open.Both the men’s and women’s teams were in action at the meet.
For the men, Emmanuel Egbujor led the way with a first-place finish in the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.54 seconds. This time puts Emmanuel within the top-five times among MIAC sprinters.
Gunnar Melin set a personal record in the weight throw with a throw that measured 16.08 meters. This was good for a second-place finish at the meet overall, and also put him into the top-five throws among MIAC competitors this season.
For the women, first-year Jada Lewis continued to be dominant in the 60-meter dash for the Auggies, finishing with a time of 8.03 seconds.
Christabelle Mulcahy and Nikaylah Woody competed in the 60-meter hurdles, finishing neck-and-neck in third and fourth place, their times separated by a mere .04 seconds.
Kenna Bannister finished thirteenth in both the shotput and weight throws with distances of 11.72 and 10.96 meters respectively.
Up next, the Auggies will travel to Bethel University to compete at the Gene Glader Invitational on Feb. 3.
