Hockey falls short of frozen four bid
Joe Rydel, Sports Editor
The Men’s Hockey team will close the book on the 2018 campaign following a 5-2 loss
to St. Norbert’s last weekend.
For the team, the season had its ups and downs, being highlighted by an amazing eight-game winning streak to start out the season, an appearance in the nation’s final
eight team playoffs and their third consecutive MIAC Playoff title. The Auggies were plagued in the middle of the season by injuries but were able to battle back for a very strong finish
The Auggies will bid adieu to ten great seniors, all of whom had a steady hand in rejuvenating the program into the powerhouse that it is today. Capturing three MIAC titles in the last three years is a feat that few teams have ever accomplished. The Auggies will take the momentum gained from this season and apply it to next year, hoping to make the next jump into the Frozen Four and bring home a National Title.
