As they near the midway point of their season, the Auggie lacrosse team comes into this weekend with an impressive 7–4 record. The Auggies host Loras (Iowa) in an MWLC game on Friday at 7 p.m. at Edor Nelson Field then follow up that game hosting Colorado College at 6:30 p.m. After losing their last game to Illinois Institute of Technology, these two games will become key for starting a winning streak to end the season.

Augsburg currently sits fifth in the Midwest Lacrosse Women’s Conference with a 7–2 record in conference play. The Auggies have been hot offensively, with a couple of players setting new single-game scoring records. Junior Mikayla Jones set a single-game school record for points, scoring six goals with three assists for nine points, leading Augsburg in a 15–5 win at Beloit College. The next day, teammate Mikayla Knudson tied the same record for goals and points with a seven-goal, nine-point effort against Monmouth College. Both Jones and Knutson have been huge catalysts for this offense this year. Goalie Maddie Seykora who a missed a game due to injury returned to the lineup last game recording 12 saves, her fifth double-digit save effort of the season. Her return to the lineup will be huge for the Auggies over these next two games over the weekend.

In their last meeting, the Auggies took a resounding win over Loras 20–5. It’s definitely not going to be a cake-walk, but they should be able to capitalize on facing them at home this weekend as the home stretch nears and seeding for the playoffs on the team’s mind.
