Traffic Lights
Gloria Young, Staff Writer
The rules are simple;
Green means go,
Yellow, slow down,
Red is a stop.
If you’re slick enough
To go through red,
You’ll either get a ticket
Or get by scott free.
The same rules applied
To my first semester
At college.
Or at least I thought.
The thrill of going through sets of green,
Getting to the destination
Quicker.
Opportunities
That should have been
Yellow or red,
Were green.
I went through
A red light,
And barely recovered
From damages.
I went through
A yellow light,
And got off with a warning.
I’m hesitating now,
At every green light.
Afraid they’re suppose
To be red or yellow.
