Augsburg athletics kicks off with their first few competitions this weekend. Games are going to be live streamed so fans can enjoy safely from home.

The opening game of the weekend features the men’s hockey team taking on Gustavus on Jan 29. at 2:00 p.m., followed up by playing St. Johns on Jan. 30 at 7:00 p.m. The team is looking to bounce back from a disappointing playoff semifinal loss which ended their impressive MIAC Playoff championship streak at four.

Women’s hockey also has a weekend series against St. Scholastica on Jan. 29 and Jan. 30, both at 7:00 p.m. They ended last season with a heartbreaking loss in the MIAC Championship game. 

The men’s wrestling is the last team that is scheduled to compete this weekend as they take on St. Johns this on Jan. 30. The Auggies were ranked third nationally at the end of last year after winning the NCAA Upper Midwest Regional before the season got shut down.

The track and field team opens up an indoor competition on Feb. 5 with a dual meet against St. Thomas that begins at 4:00 p.m. 

Swim and Dive opens up with a competition on Feb. 6 with a double dual against Gustavus and Hamline. Diving starts at 10:30 a.m. and the swimming portion starts at 2:00 p.m.

Men’s basketball opens up their season on Feb. 6 with a game against Gustavus starting at 2:00 p.m. The team looks to have a strong season after they finished third in the regular season but lost in their first playoff game.

Women’s basketball also opens up against Gustavus on Feb. 6 at 2:00 p.m. The team looks to have another successful season finishing second in the regular season and finishing runner-up in the MIAC playoffs.
