Poem “Nova”
Cassandra Hagen, features editor
Lost in our own worlds
Stars that don’t know how to burn
Where have we gone? Drifting away
In a universe of galaxies that forever turn
Planets drift around our heads
Comets and shooting stars pass by
Every single thing gravitates toward us
But it’s each other we can’t find
So we watch the supernovas
Stars’ colors bursting as they die
Hoping that if it is each other
We can meet again in another life
Coincidentally enough, this was one of the first poems I have ever written and what initially sparked my interest in writing and enamored me with the beauty of the written word. I think it also perfectly encapsulates my love of space and the cosmos and everything in it.
