Allison Hookom is currently in her sophomore year as an Auggie and is a standout player on both the womens soccer team as a defender and on the track and field team as a sprinter. She is currently in-season on the track team and has been posting dominant performances in both her years at Augsburg.

Hookom competes in the 60 meter, 200 meter, 400 meter and 600 meter dash and never fails to reach the top 10 at each meet. Her personal best times include 8.33 seconds in the 60 meter dash at the University of St. Thomas Opener on Jan. 12, a 1:37.73 in the 600 meter dash at the Vanessa Seljeskog Classic on Jan. 20 — which is a school record, a 57.94 second run in the 400 meter dash at the Carleton Meet of Hearts on Feb. 10 and a 26.46 second run in the 200 meter dash at the Snowshoe Open on Feb. 17 back in 2023. Her times have been fast enough to best many division one and two sprinters.

In her short career at Augsburg, Hookom has posted 18 top three finishes in her events including nine first place finishes.

In her short career at Augsburg, Hookom has posted 18 top three finishes in her events including nine first place finishes. In the 2023 season, she took home an individual all-conference award for the second best MIAC time in the 400 meter dash at 58.48 seconds. Hookom’s stellar 2023 performance won her women’s rookie of the year as well as a nomination for women’s athlete of the year at the 2023 Auggie Awards ceremony.

On the womens soccer team, Hookom played in all 19 of the Auggie’s games this season as well as 17 games in the 2023 season. She played a key role in the Auggie’s shut down defense both this season and last season and has contributed two assists and three goals. Hookom looks to play a pivotal role on defense on a solid womens team that was able to advance to the MIAC conference semi-finals this season.

It wasn’t really a surprise when Hookom started to shine in her first-year season in either sport. Her high school sports resume was stacked with honors and awards. For Andover’s track and field team, she earned all-state honors in the 4 x 100 meter relay and 400 meter dash for top finishes in both events in the section 7AAA championships in 2022. She is also able to boast three all-conference honors for the track team. For the Andover soccer team, she was named team captain and was awarded an all-conference honor in 2022.

Fans can catch Hookom representing the Auggies at the indoor track and field MIAC Championships in Northfield, Minnesota at St. Olaf College on Feb. 23 and 24. Rest assured, she’ll be looking to break more records.
