After an undefeated season in MIAC play and winning the conference regular season title, the Augsburg Women’s Volleyball team is back in top form. The team added plenty of new faces, with nine new players joining the roster, but it is showing no signs of adjustment, starting the season 11-4 with a 2-1 record in conference play.
After a 4-0 trip to Oregon to open the season with matches in Portland and Newberg, the team returned to Minneapolis for a homestead in which they went 3-1.
Taylor Linn leads the team as senior captain, a senior who has been an offensive force with 180 kills heading into the team’s match on Wednesday against St. Catherine. Macey Terhell has also continued her strong play from last season, pacing the team defensively with 320 digs on the year.
The team most recently fell in tightly contested match against the University of Minnesota Morris in five sets. The volleyball team plays their next game at home on Saturday against Hamline before heading to Wisconsin for the next four games, three of which will be part of the Wisconsin-Eau Claire Invitational.
