Auggie Volleyball off to best start since 2015

The Augsburg University volleyball team has gotten off to a scorching start to their 2018 campaign. The Auggies are now 11-2 and are hoping to make a postseason run.

Augsburg started the season 4-0 after a Labor Day weekend trip to Rhode Island to compete in the Roger Williams Invitational. They then came home and dominated Crown College by 3-0 before the Auggie Invite where they won three out of four games with the lone loss coming at the hands of Cornell College.

With their record now 8-1, the Auggies opened up MIAC competition against St. Olaf last Wednesday. Unfortunately, a tough night led to a 3-1 defeat against the Oles as Augsburg dropped only their second match of the season. As all good teams do, the Auggies bounced right back and went 3-0 as they dominated their competition at the UW-Eau Claire Tournament, dropping only one set the entire weekend.

Augsburg’s 11-2 start to the season is their best record through the first 13 games since the 2015 campaign where they also started 11-2. The Auggies look to continue their solid season with home games against Concordia-Moorhead on Saturday the 22nd and St. Kate’s on Wednesday the 26th.
