Cross-country makes running start

Joe Rydel, Sports Editor

The Augsburg University men’s and women’s cross country teams kicked off their seasons earlier this Fall. The Auggies are led by fourth-year head coach Meghan Peyton and are looking to improve off of a strong 2017 campaign. The teams are led by upperclassmen Ryan Moore, Jackson Gerber, Ann Sheely and Cait Olson.

Last weekend, the team hosted the inaugural Augsburg Invitational with over 25 teams competing. The Auggies have another tough schedule in 2018 that is highlighted by a trip to Salem, Ore., to compete in the Willamette University Invite on Sept. 29.  With just over half of their schedule left, the Auggies have posted strong performances and are looking to run well at the MIAC and NCAA Regionals meets in Oct. and Nov.
