Women’s Basketball Begins Season

The Augsburg men’s wrestling team opened their season by traveling to Collegeville and beating St. John’s in 13 of the 14 bouts.
Of the 13 bouts that Auggies won, four (Moses Madimba, Isaiah Thompson, Carl Leuer, and Tim Mandyck) were won by pins, four (Tyler Shilson, Bentley Schwanebeck-Ostermann, Tyler Kim and Nick Rogge) were won by technical fall, one (Tate Torgerson) was won by major decision, and four (Justin Stauffacher, Tanner Kroells, Rogge and Schwanebeck-Ostermann) were won by decision. Rogge and Schwanebeck-Ostermann both competed in the 184 and 197-pound weight classes.
There were also seven intrasquad matches. Yim-Leej Yang won the 125-pound weight class by a major decision, Charlie Pickell won at 133 by decision, Brady Gross won at 141 by major decision, Charlie Stuhl won at 149 by major decision, Connor Thorsten won at 157 by decision, Solomon Nielsen won at 174 by major decision and Carter Paulson won at 184 by major decision.
The team travels to Olivet, Michigan on Sunday for the Olivet College Quadrangular.
