In a shocking development, Pres. Donald Trump has cheated on long-time husband Joe Biden with Elon Musk. According to an article from TMZ, Trump and Musk were seen leaving Mar-A-Lago together on April 1. Even more incriminating is the fact that photos taken of the pair show lipstick stains on Trump’s cheeks in the same shade as Musk’s signature lip color.

As previously reported by the Echo, Trump and Biden have had a love-hate relationship — as in they love to hate each other — since the 1980s. Their relationship has been reportedly rocky since Biden dropped out of the race for the 2024 Presidential Election on July 21, 2024. Trump spoke about Biden’s dropping out of the race to NPR, stating, “He really hurt my feelings with that one. My trust has been broken and I will be discussing this matter with him over dinner this evening.” Several sources have also reported that Biden’s dropping out of the race came on the couple’s anniversary, adding more tension to their already strained relationship.

While the news of Trump’s cheating is shocking, what is not shocking to many in the political circuits is his choice of mistress in Musk. World-renowned Political Scientist Percy Fartbelt, who has written extensively about Trump’s romantic entanglements and their impacts on political policy, wrote in an article, “I mean we all saw this coming right? Musk has been hanging around the White House for Trump’s entire second term so far. He wasn’t trying to undermine his power and steal his job as the president, he’s been romantically courting him this whole time so it was only natural that this is how their relationship has progressed.”

In a more interesting turn to this story, it has also been reported by TMZ that the only reason they knew of the affair and when to capture photos of the two men engaging in it was because of one of their reporters being accidentally added to a text group chat between Biden, Trump and Musk. The text messages within the chat were intense, as the men called each other names and exchanged insults like it was nothing. At one point, Biden wrote in the chat that “at least [he] has a body that isn’t shaped like a lump of clay that was overworked and left to dry like that,” a jab seemingly aimed at Musk.

However, after a close examination of these text exchanges, many reporters have posited the theory that Musk and Trump did not have an affair and that, in fact, Musk has entered the Biden-Trump relationship as a third partner, turning the couple into a throuple. Fartbelt even wrote about this in some of his articles following the leaked messages, stating that “These men are at the height of political power and how do you think they will maintain that power? By literally being inseparable, almost as if they are inside of each other’s skin — in more ways than one.”

It will be interesting to see how the news of this potential infidelity affects Trump’s approval ratings as he continues his second term. Many political analysts would think that they couldn’t get any worse but this situation may prove them very wrong. Only time will tell, and so will the power structure if Trump attempts to seek an unconstitutional third term or if Musk attempts to get elected himself in 2028.
